The society of Syriac Studies

    The Society of Syriac Studies, of which I am a founding member, held a fifth Roundtable entitled "The old testament in Syriac. " It was held Friday, November 16, 2007, at the School of Medecine in Paris, France.

   Eleven speakers presented studies on the early translations of the Old Testament in Syriac, from the earliest centuries of our era, which culminated in the famous Peshitta.

   The members of the lecture were very interested. The work o the Roundtable will be published shortly.
