Le congrès de la société des études syriaques.
Ce Congrès s’est tenu le 14 novembre à l’Institut de théologie protestante à Paris, en présence de plus de 70 membres de la Société des études syriaques, et autres invités. Le thème traité par les intervenants était celui de l’Historiographie chez les Syriaques. L’on a développé le rôle des Chroniqueurs syriaques pour la transmission aux peuples de l’Orient des grands événements historiques du passé. Hélas, deux tiers des chroniques écrites par ces auteurs ont été perdus. Il ne nous reste qu’une dizaine de chroniques.

The Congress of the Syriac studies .
The Congress was held on November 14 at the Institute of Protestant theology in Paris, attended by more than 70 members of the League of Syriac studies and other guests. The matter set out by the speakers was the Historiography among Syriac people. It has expanded the role of the chroniclers for transmission to Syriac peoples of the Orient of the great historical events of the past. Unfortunately, a lot of texts Written by these authors were lost. We only have a dozen of chronicles.

Le quatrième congrès de la langue syriaque s’est tenu du 8 au 11 octobre 2008, à Mardin, au sud-est de la Turquie.
L’inauguration a eu lieu au couvent de Deyr Zafaran en présence des autorités religieuses, du gouverneur de la ville, du maire, du président de l’université. Pendant ces trois jours de conférence, plus de 80 orientalistes et savants, venus de toute l’Europe, de l’Amérique et du Canada , du Proche Orient , Irak, Syrie, Liban, ont présenté leurs dernières recherches et études sur la langue syriaque classique et sur le soureth. Nous étions heureux d’avoir la possibilité de tenir ce congrès, pour la première fois, sur les terres des premiers Syriaques. Après ce congrès, j’ai eu la chance d’aller visiter d’autres hauts lieux de la culture et de la langue syriaque : Edesse, Nusaybin, Amida (Diyarbakir).

The fourth congress of the Syriac language was held from 8 to 11 October 2008, Mardin, south-east Turkey.
The inauguration took place at the convent of Deyr Zafaran in the presence of religious authorities, the governor of the city, the mayor, the president of the university. During the three day conference, more than 80 scholars from all over Europa, America and Canada, the Near East, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, presented their latest research and studies on the Syriac classic language and the soureth. We were pleased to be able to hold the congress for the first time, on land first Syriac people. After this congress, I had the chance to visit other places of Syriac culture and language: Edessa, Nusaybin, Amida (Diyarbakir).

مجمع العلوم السريانية في باريس
انعقد في باريس يوم الرابع عشر من شهر تشرين الثاني عام 2008 مؤتمر كبير وحضر أكثر من 70 عالما وباحثا وخبيرا في تاريخ وحضارة شعبنا الكلداني السرياني الأشوري
وتطرق المشاركون عن التواريخ السريانية وأهميتها لمعرفة ماضي الشرق وتغيراته. تكلمتُ مع بعض أساتذة الجامعات الغربية الذين حضروا هذا المؤتمر عن فكرة القيام بمؤتمر دولي كبير حول تاريخ مدينة نصيبين و مدرستها العريقة، وابدوا إعجابا كبيرا بهذا المشروع وابلغوني باستعدادهم للمشاركة وللمساهمة بأعماله، يعتبرون ذلك فرصة تاريخية يجب أن لا تُفوت
. تأسس مجمع العلوم السريانية عام 2004 وأنا احد المؤسسين أعضاء المجمع هم 120 أستاذا وعالما ومستشرقا انعقد في باريس 5 مؤتمرات ونشر 5 مؤلفات نتيجة لبحوثه الهامة انه اكبر مؤسسة غربية لحماية تراثنا ولغتنا وآدابنا على أبناء شعبنا التعرف على أعمال هذا المجمع المبدع والنشيط

مؤتمر اللغة السريانية الرابع
اختارت هيئة رئاسة مؤتمر اللغة السريانية يوم الثامن من شهر أكتوبر موعداً لانطلاق أعمال مؤتمرها الرابع في صومعة دير الزعفران في مدينة ماردين جنوب شرقي تركيا وللفترة من 8-12 أكتوبر 2008.
و كانت أهداف المؤتمر الذي رسم محاور البحث والنقاش في: 1. اللهجات المحكية وعلاقتها مع اللغة السامية الأم. 2. اللغة السريانية والاستشراف. 3. طرق تعليم السريانية الكلاسيكية والحديثة
قد اقيم حفل الافتتاح في دير الزعفران بحضور عدد من المؤولين الرس: والي مدينة ماردين ممثل وزارة الثقافة رئيس بلدية ماردين رئيس جامعة ماردين كما حضر عدد من رموز دينية من طور عبدين. وقد تميز هذا المؤتمر بحضور ومساهمة عدد كبير المعنيين باللغة السريانية وتراثها وآدابها من العراق سور يا وتركيا ولبنان. ومن بلدان أخرى مثل فرنسا وانكلترا وألمانيا والسويد وهولندا وبلجيكا وايطاليا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا . كان للمؤتمر نقلة نوعية في تنظيمه وإدارته، وتميز بعلميته الأكاديمية وبتوظيفه الوسائل والتقنيات الحديثة في تقديم البحوث
وتطرقت في محاضرتي حول "تعليم وتعريف باللغة السريانية وتراثها من القرن السابع عشر الى القرن الواحد والعشرون". في عهد الملك لويس الرابع عشر وبتعاون رئيس وزراءه كول بيرت باشر باقتناء المخطوطات الأولى لتراثنا السرياني ومع مرور الزمن تمكنوا من جمع أكثر من 431 مخطوطة سريانية عريقة وهامة. كما اكدتُ في بحثي على الدور الهام الذي ساهم فيه العديد من العلماء الفرنسيين ومن بينهم العالم ايرنست رينان والباحث ديفال والمترجم الشهير جان بابتيست شابو والعالم الرياضي فرانسوا نو. واختتمت كلامي بإلقاء الضوء على تدريس اللغة السريانية في جامعة السوربون والجامعة الكاثوليكية في باريس
